Wayne Rooney could make his Manchester United comeback against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.

Wayne Rooney was injured against Fulham
Rooney has been sidelined since suffering a serious gash to his right leg in the 3-2 win over Fulham on August 25.
Manager Sir Alex Ferguson said the striker was not close to featuring in Wednesday's Champions League win over Galatasaray and denied that he would definitely be fit to take on Liverpool.

However, Rooney has been back in training at Carrington since last week, looking sharper and lighter than earlier in the season, and is expected to be available.
Ferguson said three weeks ago that he hoped the injury would prove a blessing in disguise, adding that he expected Rooney would return fitter.
Rooney's only start of the campaign came on his native Merseyside, when United lost their opening game 1-0 to Everton.
He was left on the bench at Anfield last year, making a substitute appearance in a 1-1 draw.
