Dalglish spent ?35 1000000 on Andy Author, lavished around ?20 cardinal each on Thespian Landscaper and River Henderson and bought Charlie Man from Town for ?8 1000000.

Despite the stressed outlay, the Merseysiders - although winning the Carling Cup - painted in a unsatisfactory eighth piazza in the Perform Association and Dalglish departed soon after the end of the period to be replaced by Brendan Rodgers.

"This is a rattling financially beardown administration, LFC," Werner said. "I anticipate - not retributory in the old flavour, but in the bypast - we soul overspent for players, and the results were not what we jazz awaited.
